Board Appointments

Thank you for your interest in a Shelby County Delegation Board appointment. Appointments made by the Shelby County Delegation are set forth by legislation to the Alabama Code of Law. The Delegation currently has three Boards to which we make appointments: the Shelby County Judicial Commission (2 spots), the Shelby County Law Enforcement Personnel Board (2 spots), and the North Shelby Library Board (5 positions)

Appointments for these Boards are at different intervals so applications will be made available based on the terms of the appointments.

North Shelby Library Board– The members of the Delegation that represent the library district will choose five people to serve on the Board from the applications submitted. The initial appointments will begin immediately and expire on December 31, 2026, or until a successor is elected. Following the initial term, the Board appointees will each serve four-year terms.

Per Legislative Act #2024-122, appointees must be a registered voter and reside in the boundaries of the library district. Also, one member of the board shall be an owner of a commercial property in the district.

Applications for the North Shelby Library Board will be made available beginning June 1, 2024. All applications for consideration on the Library Board must be submitted by June 30, 2024 at 5pm. Applications can be mailed or emailed. Because June 30th falls on a Sunday, applications will need to be postmarked on or before June 30, 2024 in order to be considered.
