On July 11, 2024, the members of the Shelby County Legislative Delegation who represent the North Shelby Library District elected five new members to the library Board. The election occurred following the passage of Alabama Legislative Act 2024-122, which changed the way the Library Board members were elected.
Following a month-long period of accepting board appointment interest forms, the legislators reviewed applicants and voted on the following five individuals to serve on the North Shelby Library Board:
Paul Garris
Sam Gaston
Rebecca Johnson
Andy Martin (commercial property owner)
Kasandra Stephens
Pursuant to the law, these members will serve on the library board until December 31, 2026.
